  • Mastercard and BVNK have launched a platform that lets banks, fintechs and businesses offer traditional-currency accounts, stablecoin payments, conversion and card spending through one integration.

The Mastercard Global Money Platform, announced October 15, is available now through BVNK. It is the first major integration of the companies’ services since Mastercard acquired BVNK in August.

Customers can embed the services in their own products under their own brands, or use them to manage treasury, collections and payouts. The account holds fiat and stablecoin balances side by side, with conversion between them.

  • Local bank payouts run through Mastercard Move. A business can fund a payment with fiat or stablecoins and have the recipient receive money in a domestic bank account. Stablecoin-linked cards provide another way to spend balances through Mastercard’s acceptance network.

Nuvei and Marqeta are among the first companies set to integrate the platform. Financial institutions can also add stablecoin services to existing accounts while keeping their client relationships.

BVNK’s developer documentation describes two ways to use the infrastructure. A business can manage its own payments and treasury through BVNK’s portal or API, or embed wallets, payments, conversions, cards and rewards for its customers. The documentation also lists self-custody wallets among the available options.

  • Some of the announced reach is still to come. Mastercard expects local payout coverage to expand to more than 40 currencies across over 200 countries and territories in 2027. The companies also plan support for tokenized deposits and agentic commerce, in which software agents carry out transactions.
