Interactive Brokers adds Ethereum staking through zerohash
Eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients can request staking through Client Portal, with availability varying by affiliate and residence.

Interactive Brokers has launched Ethereum staking for eligible clients of Interactive Brokers LLC, adding another digital asset function to its brokerage platform. The October 13 announcement names zerohash as the provider of the staking services.
The company’s original release says clients can use a Staking Dashboard in Client Portal to submit staking and unstaking requests and monitor pending activity. Ethereum is the asset supported at launch; the announcement does not establish staking support for the other cryptocurrencies available for trading through the broker.
When rewards are earned, Interactive Brokers says they will be credited as additional staked cryptocurrency. Those amounts can compound while the position remains staked. That describes how credited rewards are handled, rather than guaranteeing a return or promising a fixed rate.

Eligibility also has limits. The release says cryptocurrency availability varies with the Interactive Brokers affiliate and a client’s country of residence. Its launch language concerns eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients, so it should not be read as universal access across the company’s global customer base.
Jason Shubnell reported the launch for The Block on October 13, confirming the Ethereum and zerohash arrangement. His report places the new service alongside the broker’s existing cryptocurrency trading and stablecoin funding capabilities.
The addition follows an expansion of the broker’s digital asset infrastructure beyond buying and selling. Interactive Brokers’ release also identifies stablecoin account funding and cryptocurrency transfers as parts of its existing offering. These are separate functions: the presence of a token in a funding or trading service does not mean it is eligible for staking.
