Lido contributors propose a lending market built on a Morpho Blue fork

Isolated markets and deposit screening are planned, with technical details, audits and DAO votes still ahead.

  • Lido contributors have unveiled Lido Lend, a proposed decentralized lending market built on a modified fork of Morpho Blue. The October 7 governance post describes a system for passive lenders and professional borrowers, with Lido DAO oversight subject to a future acceptance vote.

Contributors say the product is coming this quarter. Before launch and DAO acceptance votes, they plan to publish technical specifications, market parameters and audit reports in the same governance thread over the next few weeks.

  • The proposed design uses isolated markets with selected assets, rather than one general-purpose lending pool. Contributors favor assets with correlated prices and give stETH and ETH as an example. That narrows the intended use case toward staking-related borrowing and looping, in which a borrower repeatedly lends and borrows to enlarge a position.

  • The post also proposes screening deposits and filtering hacked funds. Those controls are intended to protect lenders from bad collateral and close attack paths. Contributors have not yet identified the screening mechanism or the rules for admitting assets, so those features remain design commitments to be evaluated against the coming specifications.

Liquidity during stress is another stated priority. The contributors want lenders to have dependable exits even when a market is fully utilised and borrowers to be able to unwind extended loops under predictable rules. The initial announcement does not explain how an exit will be funded when all available lending assets are borrowed.

Those omissions leave practical questions for the technical release: withdrawal mechanics, collateral limits, liquidation thresholds and the discretion retained by market operators. The proposal's emphasis on security does not establish that deposits would be risk-free or that immediate withdrawals would always be possible.

  • Lido Lend is intended to complement Lido Earn and the broader stETH ecosystem. The present milestone is an announced product direction and governance process. The next test will be the specifications and audits presented to the DAO before it decides whether to accept and launch the protocol.
