  • Samsung plans to add USDC transfers to Samsung Wallet in the last week of October for eligible Galaxy users in the United States. The planned feature has two routes: sending the dollar stablecoin to compatible crypto wallets, and sending money to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries for receipt in local currency.

The company announced the timing October 7. Access requires a U.S. resident aged at least 18, a Samsung Account, identity verification and biometric authentication setup, plus a compatible Galaxy device running Android 13 or later.

  • Samsung says it will not charge for USDC transfers to external wallets, but receiving wallet providers or exchanges may impose their own fees. Network conditions can affect transfer speed. International bank transfers will carry fees that vary with destination and amount, shown with an estimated delivery time before confirmation.

  • Custody and networks sit behind the wallet

Bastion will provide the stablecoin account and payment infrastructure. Coinbase’s October 8 announcement says USDC balances will be held through Coinbase Prime Vault, operating with Bastion. Samsung’s interface therefore gives customers access to services supplied by regulated partners; Samsung’s own disclosure says it does not hold customer funds.

  • USDC will appear as the default dollar stablecoin when users top up. Coinbase describes the integration as the next step after the companies’ earlier collaboration on Samsung Pay and Coinbase One benefits, moving the relationship into a stablecoin balance inside Samsung Wallet.

Samsung identifies Solana and Sui among its technical partners. Sui’s October 8 announcement specifies USDC support on its network and says users will not need to hold SUI to pay network fees. Its initial offering supports USDC, with the SUI token itself excluded from Samsung Wallet at launch.

  • Sui’s official announcement post sets out that network’s role in the planned integration. The post describes the rollout, rather than documenting completed customer transfers.

  • Cointelegraph separately reported that Borderless.xyz’s network will handle the international bank payouts, citing chief executive Kevin Lehtiniitty. That adds a named payout provider to the custody and blockchain partners disclosed by Samsung.

  • The company’s figure of 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices refers to compatible devices, not enrolled customers. Online and in-store stablecoin payments are described as possible future features. The currently announced rollout is for eligible transfers later this month.
